Kumusta readers,
This week we have been learning how to write a recount while using language features. We have learnt a lot of language features this term, also this term we have been learning about language features we used the language features and created a recount about sports. These are the language features we have been learning about for the past weeks:
Here is some of my ideas that answer the question "what".
Onomatopoeia - ‘Bang’
Metaphor - “You are the sun!’
Personification “The clouds danced across the sky.”
Hyperboles - “I was so embarrassed I would have stuck my head in the toilet to hide.”
Alliteration - “It was time for super Sunday sports.”
Dialogue - “Don’t move,” Ellenessa whispered.
The first thing we did was answer the questions: who, why, what, when, where and how. We wrote down our ideas in bullet points, then we looked for places where we could place a language features. Then we highlighted the different language features in different colours. Then yesterday we turned our planning into a recount for Fun Friday Super Sports.
What?
Line up on the court when the bell rings- “DING DING DING DING!!”
Grab our gear.-”Can you please give me those shin pads.”
Walk to Kyle Park.-”Footsteps”
Find our coach.-”Hey Addie how are you today?”
Warm ups.- “Hockey sticks clashing.”
Positions.
Prize giving.-”CLAP CLAP CLAP”
Game starts.
“WHISTLE!!”
Winter sport.
Hockey.- “I was so excited to play that i could keep playing for an eternity!!”
“HERE GIVE IT HERE!”
I was so sad that winter sports was coming to an end. But today I will be telling you all about what happened on that day.
One day at Hornby Primary School, the bell suddenly rang “DING DING DING!”. So I grabbed my sports gear and sprinted towards the court. As I sprinted towards the court I saw other kids also sprinting towards the court. I saw kids lining up on the court. I saw the teachers organising the teams and checking if anyone was missing. I saw my friends lining up in the hockey area where we always lineup. I also lined up with them, then Miss Scott gave us our gear.We stood up and walked towards Kyle Park talking while our boots making footsteps sound “TAP TAP TAP.” We crossed the road and walked towards the entrance to Kyle Park with our boots still tapping on the ground. The hockey teams separated and went to their field.
“Good luck!” We said to each other.
Here is a photo of me playing hockey.
